Job Description for Bookkeeper/Office Manager
Company
. is expanding its team! Looking to hire an experienced full-time Bookkeeper at its Connecticut office. The applicant will need to have a detailed understanding of accounting practices, QuickBooks, Excel, and other Microsoft programs. Good phone/communication skills are a must. Must be adaptable to miscellaneous duties. 
Our preferred candidate should have experience working for either a Real Estate Development, Construction, or Property Management company. The ideal candidate should be extremely comfortable in a fast-paced environment while meeting tight deadlines and be a self-starter. Efficiency is critical.
Core Responsibilities:
  • Record day to day financial transactions and complete the posting process using QuickBooks.
  • Verify that transactions are recorded and coded correctly.
  • Maintain and balance the general ledger in an accurate, complete, and up to date manner.
  • Enter data, maintain records, and create reports.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable in a timely manner.
  • Perform account receivable functions including invoicing, deposits, collections, and revenue recognition.
  • Conduct reconciliations including mortgage closing statements.
  • Create bank requisitions using AIA documents.
  • Interpret and apply accounting policies, rules, and regulations to all work to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
  • Customer service (answering telephone, assisting clients)
  • Receive inventory
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Bookkeeping
  • General knowledge of construction for coding purposes. 
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task, pay attention to detail, and work under tight time constraints.
  • Thorough understanding of industry practices, processes,  and standards.
  • Computer savvy with working knowledge of QuickBooks, Microsoft word, excel, and outlook. Familiarity with construction management (Procore certified preferred).
  • Excellent work ethic, leadership, and communication skills
