Position Summary: LCRDA seeks a full-time Director of Marketing and Engagement to market IP and NFIL, as well as their properties, facilities, and programs, while building brand awareness inside and outside the community by engaging through traditional and social media, relationship building, and delivery of events and programs. This position reports to the Director of North Florida Innovation Labs and supports the responsibilities and activities of the Director. This position also works in collaboration with the Executive Director and the other members of the LCRDA and the NFIL Teams

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Director of Marketing and Engagement will perform the following duties and responsibilities consistent with the mission and specific goals and strategic objectives of the organization, including but not limited to:

Marketing & Communications:
Marketing Plan: Work with the Executive Director, Director of North Florida Innovation Labs, and in collaboration with the Tallahassee Leon County Office of Economic Vitality, to develop and execute a marketing plan for IP and NFIL.
Marketing Calendar: Develop and maintain an annual and monthly marketing and editorial calendar which communicates the marketing plan to the Board and management and reports the effectiveness of each initiative.
Public Relations, Media and Community Engagement: Develop media and community relationships, prepare press releases, and appear on TV and radio programs which help build brand awareness, promote the organization, drive participation in organization events and programs, and attract companies to IP & NFIL.
Websites: Maintain the organization website(s) using Word Press or other Content Management Systems (CMS) including uploading, updating and posting information to the website(s), and maintaining analytics to track website performance.
Newsletters: Create and distribute monthly newsletters using Constant Contact, HubSpot or other email or marketing automation software which promotes the assets and activities of the LCRDA, NFIL, and the Innovation Park community, as well as the R&D and entrepreneurship related assets and activities of the universities, and the Leon County community.
Social Media: Maintain IP and NFIL Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube accounts, which includes regular posting of announcements, events, relevant news stories, and community partner recognition, as well as maintenance of performance analytics. Adjust use of relevant social media platforms consistent with technology changes.
Design and Produce Collateral & Presentation Materials: Create collateral (print, video or digital) to support the marketing plan and manage all marketing project budgets.
Marketing Vendor Selection: Working in collaboration with the Executive Director and Director of NFIL, select and manage external marketing resources and vendors including reporting and budgets – as may be required.
Events & Programs:
Innovation Park TechGrant Programs: Plan and execute the grant programs including process documentation, marketing & PR, application forms, sponsorships, judge and mentor recruiting, application scoring, Elevator Pitch Night event, and follow up surveys.
Innovation Park TechTopics: Plan and execute a minimum of four TechTopics events per year including topic selection, speaker engagement, venue and presentation technology arrangements, promotion, registration, catering, and event signage.
North Florida Innovation Labs Programs: In conjunction with the Administrative Coordinator, assist the Director of North Florida Innovation Labs in promoting and delivering the North Florida Innovation Labs programs and events.
Affinity Programs & Other Marketing Activities: Utilizing subject matter expertise, work with regional community resources to develop and promote affinity programs and other activities for the benefit of IP & NFIL organizations and their employees.
Supervise Internship Programs & Events: Work with area and regional colleges to develop and supervise interns assigned to IP and NFIL including the recruiting and management of interns and fulfilling the associated reporting requirements of the academic institutions.
Support Grant Funding, Sponsorship Solicitations and Reporting: Work with internal and external resources and partners to support funding requests through the creation of written documents and collateral materials as needed to submit applications for funding and the required reports associated with receiving the funding.
Conduct Tours of Innovation Park and NFIL: Conduct tours of Innovation Park and North Florida Innovation Labs for prospects and key community stakeholders.
Other duties as assigned
Administrative and Event Support: This position is supported through a shared part-time administrative coordinator.

Educational Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in sales, marketing, public relations, communications, or related areas of study and five or more years of related experience are preferred, but not required.
