The Violence Intervention and Prevention Department (VIP), a program of the YWCA Greater Harrisburg, provides comprehensive services to all victims of crime in Perry County. All VIP services are confidential, free of charge, and provided utilizing a trauma-informed, empowerment based service delivery model. The Shelter Case Manager will work directly with victims of crime utilizing VIP’s 45-day emergency shelter. Hours for this position are Tuesday through Saturday from 10 am to 6 pm.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide case management and supportive services to victims in shelter
• Facilitate support groups and house meetings
• Assist clients in developing goal plans and working towards identified goals
• Make referrals to and collaborate with other community organizations
• Provide crisis response and other services to all victims served by VIP
• Participate in on-call rotations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field and prior related work experience required.
• Experience working with victims of crime preferred.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently and utilize sound judgement
• Effectively de-escalate crisis situations in a professional manner
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must obtain FBI, criminal background, and child abuse clearances
