About Us
We are a next-gen cybernetics start-up backed by top-tier investors (NEA).

Our work focuses on the intersection of robotics, machine learning, and simulation. We aim to push the boundaries of what intelligent systems are capable of. We’re interested in both autonomous robotics and human-compatible collaboration.

Our organization operates at the frontier of human capability, working to make advancements that meaningfully improve the state of robotics and human society at large.

About the Role
As VP of Robotics, your primary responsibility will be to lead and grow a team of roboticists to build real world “demonstrations of magic” of our machine intelligence embodied in cyber-physical systems and develop a vision for the implementation of intelligent collaborative robotics both on the ground and in the air. Execute on the seemingly impossible through inspirational day-to-day management of robotics engineering projects and multidisciplinary teams.

This role requires close collaboration with teammates on-site in our robotics lab located in the Greater Boston Area. We will provide you with relocation assistance for this role.

About you
This technical leadership role draws on your technical depth and real-world experience building robotics and engineering teams. You will leverage your mechanical wisdom and intuition across physical systems to guide decisions on how to bring intelligence to life.

You live and breathe robotics or autonomous systems and are excited about the challenge of making new technology work before it has stabilized into an industry standard, continuous learning and applying new domain knowledge to evolving robotics capabilities.

You are a thorough leader who truly loves to achieve more with a team than is possible as an individual.

Your Responsibilities
Lead and grow an R&D team of roboticists to prototype and demonstrate real world applications of machine intelligence systems.
Drive the company’s short- and long-term vision for the Robotics domain.
Develop reliable integration & testing approaches for verification using hardware-in-the-loop robotics simulation.
Drive the full engineering lifecycle, from rapid prototyping to product, from specs to V&V.
Guide and unblock progress to ensure Agile progress aligns with both short-term robotics goals and the long-term vision.
Establish a strong engineering culture, excellent technology, high quality implementations and foster effective communications in and among the organization.
Collaborate across teams of AI, Simulation, and DevOps engineers to plan both long- and short-term roadmaps for robotics.
Work on-site in our robotics lab in the Greater Boston area.
Your Technical and Professional Expertise
PhD or Masters in robotics, engineering, computer science, or physics
10+ years of robotics and/or autonomous systems engineering experience
A track record of building and leading strong engineering teams characterized by high productivity, excellent morale, and low turnover in complex, rapidly evolving environments
Hands-on mechanical engineering or mechatronics experience, including fluency with dynamics/kinematics equations
Has shipped products to end users, from rapid prototyping to final product
Experience managing engineering teams in robotics or autonomous systems
Broad familiarity with modern robotics stacks:
perception, controls, planning, communications, ROS, embedded hardware, etc.
Outstanding communication skills (written and oral) with a portfolio of demonstrated thought leadership.
What Will Make You Standout
Experience developing drones (UAVs)
Experience developing autonomous mobile robots (AMRs)
Knowledge of Nvidia and other high-end embedded hardware
Familiarity with robotics safety standards and drone regulations
We Offer
High-tech environment with a unique focus on Research & Development.
Freedom to make ground-breaking decisions.
Highly competitive employment terms.
401(k) and significant stock options.
Comprehensive healthcare coverage (Medical, Dental, Vision).
Flexible schedule and an unlimited Out of Office Plan (we encourage 4+ weeks/year)
We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
