Asquith & Berowra Veterinary Hospitals (ABV) currently have an opportunity for an experienced Veterinary Nurse. ABV consists of two well-established small animal practices, located in Asquith and Berowra, in the beautiful leafy shire of Hornsby and Upper North Sydney. The two practices provide exceptional and professional veterinary care to pets and their owners. We have a strong reputation among a loyal client base for providing high standards of care and treatment.

We are currently looking for a qualified Veterinary Nurse for a full-time position.

Tasks and responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing care and handling animals in the veterinary clinic or hospital
• Assist with feeding, grooming, exercising, and monitoring the general well-being of animals
• Ensuring animals comfort, monitoring their behaviour and vital signs, and providing assistance during examinations or procedures
• Support veterinarians in various tasks such as preparing examination rooms, sterilizing equipment, and assisting with diagnostic procedures
• Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments to animals as prescribed by the veterinarian
• Responsible for monitoring and caring for animals admitted to the clinic or hospital
• Interact with clients, answering their questions, providing information on pet care, and explaining post-treatment or surgery instructions
• Assist in scheduling appointments and handling administrative tasks
• Assist in collecting and preparing samples for laboratory testing, radiography (X-rays) and other diagnostic imaging procedures
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by ensuring proper sanitation of equipment, disinfecting exam rooms, and managing waste disposal.

Qualifications and experience
• Relevant Qualification
• At least 2 years previous experiences in similar roles
• Knowledge of animal anatomy, physiology, pharmacology, and medical terminology
• Able to understand and respond to the needs of both animals and their owners
• Excellent communication and time management skills
• Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work as a team leader and part of a team


Salary: $55,000-65,000
